Route briefs from September 2025
SEPTEMBER 25, 2025: Juneyao Airlines will increase its four times weekly B787-9 flights between Shanghai Pudong (PVG) and Sydney (SYD) and thrice weekly flights between Shanghai Pudong and Melbourne (MEL) to seven per week over February 2026.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2025: Sichuan Airlines will return to Auckland after a seven month break, with twice weekly A350-900 round-trips between Chengdu Tianfu (TFU) – Auckland (AKL) from December 7, 2025.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2025: Air Tahiti Nui is suspending its twice-weekly B787-9 Papeete (PPT) - Seattle (SEA) round-trips, effective February 1, 2026.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2025: SmartLynx Australia is opening its twice-weekly Dash 8 charters between Cairns (CNS) and Moranbah (MOV) to the general public.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2025: Asiana Airlines will operate a series of A350-900 charters between Seoul Incheon (ICN) and Cairns (CNS) between November 16 and December 2, 2025.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2025: Link Airways has resumed its twice-weekly seasonal Saab 340B - operated round-trips between Canberra (CBR) and Coffs Harbour (CFS). The flights run until February 1, 2026.
SEPTEMBER 12, 2025: Origin Air will commence twice daily round-trips between Blenheim (BHE) and Christchurch (CHC) on October 19, 2025. Origin Air replaces the Sounds Air service which is ending in late September.
SEPTEMBER 12, 2025: Qantas will begin commercial A321-200XLR ops on September 25, 2025, flying between Sydney (SYD) and Melbourne (MEL) and Sydney and Perth (PER).

SEPTEMBER 12, 2025: Korean Air will switch the operating aircraft on its daily Seoul (ICN) - Sydney (SYD) roundtrip from a B777-300ER to a B787-10, effective October 26, 2026.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2025: Qantas is ending its thrice-weekly Fokker 100 roundtrips between Perth (PER) and Busselton (BQB) on October 10, 2025.
SEPTEMBER 10, 2025: Jetstar will commence daily A320-200 roundtrips between Hamilton (HLZ) and Christchurch (CHC), effective December 1, 2025.

SEPTEMBER 4, 2025: Two of Hainan Airlines' thrice-weekly B787-9 roundtrips between Hainan (HAK) and Auckland (AKL) will operate as Chongqing (CKG) – Haikou – Auckland services from September 27, 2025.
SEPTEMBER 4, 2025: Nauru Airlines is commencing a weekly B737-700-operated Koror (ROR) - Clark (CRK) roundtrip, effective September 5, 2025.
SEPTEMBER 2, 2025: Jetstar will increase its flights on three routes to and from Adelaide (ADL) from October 26, 2025, including the Melbourne (MEL) - Adelaide (increasing from 35 to 40 weekly flights), Brisbane (BNE) - Adelaide (increasing from 10 to 14 weekly flights), and Perth (PER) - Adelaide (increasing from seven weekly flights to 11).
SEPTEMBER 2, 2025: Nexus Airlines has suspended its Broome (BME) - Kununurra (KNX) - Darwin (DRW) route due to "unsustainable market conditions."
SEPTEMBER 2, 2025: Qantas will extend its seasonal Perth (PER) - Rome (FCO) flights by eight weeks in 2026 and increase the thrice weekly B787-9 services to four per week.

AUGUST 26, 2025: Qantas will increase its flights on the Brisbane (BNE) - Manila (MNL) route from four weekly roundtrips to five, effective October 27, 2025.
AUGUST 25, 2025: All Nippon Airways (ANA) will increase its B787-9 Tokyo Narita (NRT) – Perth (PER) flights from five per week to daily between December 1, 2025, and April 19, 2026.

AUGUST 20, 2025: Qatar Airways will reduce its A350-900 operated Doha (DOH) - Adelaide (ADL) roundtrips from daily to five per week between October 26 - December 14, 2025, January 27 - February 8, 2026, and February 16 - March 28, 2026.
AUGUST 19, 2025: Qantas has extended its direct flights between Brisbane (BNE) and Koror (ROR) for another 12 months in response to strong market demand and significant growth in Australian visitors.
AUGUST 19, 2025: China Southern Airlines will increase its daily flights between Guangzhou (CAN) and Brisbane (BNE) to ten per week between November 17 - December 14, 2025, then going double daily until February 22, 2026, before reducing to 10 per week until March 2.
AUGUST 18, 2025: Shenzhen Airlines will commence thrice weekly A330-300 flights between Shenzhen (SZX) and Melbourne (MEL) on December 23, 2025.
AUGUST 14, 2025: Cebu Pacific will add a fifth weekly A330-900N Manila (MNL) - Melbourne (MEL) flight from December 12, 2025.
AUGUST 14, 2025: Fiji Airways is adding a second weekly ATR72-600 Nadi (NAN) - Funafuti (FUN) flight, effective August 22, 2025. The flight will operate under the Fiji Link brand.
AUGUST 12, 2025: Qantas has replaced the B787-9 operating the Sydney (SYD) - Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) city pair with an A380-800, effective August 11, 2025.
AUGUST 8, 2025: Malaysia Airlines will increase its Kuala Lumpur (KUL) - Adelaide (ADL) flights from five per week to daily, effective January 29, 2025, and replace the existing A330-300 aircraft operating the route with an A330-900neo.
AUGUST 5, 2025: Jetstar will reduce its six times weekly Perth (PER) - Singapore (SIN) roundtrips to thrice weekly, effective November 26, 2025.
AUGUST 5, 2025: Plans by Asiana Airlines to run a fourth weekly A350-900 roundtrip between Seoul (ICN) and Melbourne (MEL) this Southern Hemisphere summer have been dropped. Thrice weekly flights will continue.
AUGUST 5, 2025: Jetstar will begin thrice-weekly roundtrips between Brisbane (BNE) and Rarotonga (RAR) on May 18, 2026, using A321-200neos.

JULY 29, 2025: AeroMexico will begin code sharing with Delta Air Lines on its flights between Los Angeles (LAX), Sydney (SYD), and Auckland (AKL) from July 30 and October 7, 2025, respectively.
JULY 24, 2025: China Airlines will swap 350-900s for larger B777-300ERs on its five times per week Taipei (TPE) - Melbourne (MEL) and Taipei - Sydney (SYD) services between December 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026.
JULY 22, 2025: Hawaiian Airlines will increase frequencies on its five times weekly Honolulu (HNL) - Sydney (SYD) services to daily between December 18, 2025, and January 31, 2026.

JUNE 30, 2025: Air Tahiti will increase DHC-6-300 Twin Otter flights on the Nuku Hiva (NHV) - Ua Huka (UAH) city pair to five per week, effective July 9, 2025.
JUNE 30, 2025: Scoot will increase B787 flights on the Singapore (SIN) - Sydney (SYD) city pair from 10 to 14 per week, effective October 1, 2025.
JUNE 30, 2025: AirAsia has commenced four times per week A320-200 Adelaide (ADL) - Denpasar (DPS) flights.
JUNE 27, 2025: LATAM Airlines will cease its daily B787-9 flight between Sydney (SYD) and Auckland (AKL) on October 26, 2025. However, the airline will increase its nonstop Sydney - Santiago (SCL) flights to daily services. At the same time, Auckland - Santiago flights will reduce to four per week from the current six.
JUNE 24, 2025: Turkish Airlines is increasing its A350-900 operated Sydney flights from five to six per week between December 14, 2025, and February 1, 2026.
JUNE 22, 2025: China Eastern Airlines has announced plans to start twice weekly B777-300ER flights from Auckland (AKL) to Buenos Aires (EZE) in December 2025.
JUNE 20, 2025: Air India is reducing its daily B787-9 Delhi (DEL) - Sydney (SYD) and Delhi - Melbourne (MEL) services to five flights per week between now and July 15, 2025.

JUNE 13, 2025: LATAM will increase its thrice-weekly B787-9 Santiago (SCL) - Melbourne (MEL) services to daily flights in December 2025, initially on a seasonal basis.
JUNE 13, 2025: Virgin Australia has commenced daily Sydney (SYD) - Doha (DOH) flights using B777-300ERs wet-leased from Qatar Airways.
JUNE 13, 2025: Air New Zealand will offer a fourth weekly B777-300ER flight on the Auckland (AKL) - Taipei (TPE) city pair between December 14, 2025, and March 1, 2026.
JUNE 13, 2025: Cairns-based Skytrans will begin thrice weekly Cairns (CNS) - Moranbah (MOV) roundtrips from June 30, 2025, using DHC-8-100s.
JUNE 10, 2025: Asiana Airlines' seasonal A350-900 service between Seoul (ICN) and Melbourne (MEL) resumes on October 26, 2025 on a thrice weekly basis, increasing to four times per week on December 7. The seasonal flights will end on March 7, 2026.
JUNE 5, 2025: Singapore Airlines will use an A380-800 on its daily SQ285/286 service on the Singapore (SIN) - Auckland (AKL) route between January 18 - March 28, 2026.
JUNE 4, 2025: Air New Zealand will operate twice weekly seasonal flights between Christchurch (CHC) and Adelaide (ADL) between October 28, 2025, and March 28, 2025.
JUNE 4, 2025: Cathay Pacific will resume its seasonal service between Hong Kong (HKG) and Cairns (CNS) on December 9, 2025. The thrice-weekly A330 flights will run through February 28, 2026.
JUNE 4, 2025: TransNusa is increasing the frequency of its daily Denpasar (DPS) - Perth (PER) roundtrips. Flights will increase to 11 per week on July 2 and 14 per week on July 18.
JUNE 3, 2025: Between June 16 and August 10, 2025, Qantas will use an A380-800 on its daily QF081/082 Sydney (SYD) - Singpore (SIN) flights except on Thursdays and Fridays. An A380-800 will continue to operate the daily QF1/2 flights on the same city pair.
JUNE 2, 2025: Jetstar will begin sending its larger A321-200s into Proserpine (PPP) in October when Qantas ceases its flights. The bigger aircraft will see the number of weekly Jetstar seats in Prosperine increase 30% compared to 2024.
JUNE 2, 2025: Singapore Airlines will send an 11th weekly flight into Christchurch (CHC) between November 25, 2025 and February 11, 2026.

MAY 29, 2025: Qantas will reinstate thrice-weekly Perth (PER) - Hobart (HBA) flights and launch Perth - Newcastle (NTL) flights in September 2025 using 150-passenger A319-100 aircraft.
MAY 28, 2025: Air New Zealand will begin five day per week A320 flights between Hamilton Waikato Airport (HLZ) - Christchurch (CHC) on September 18, 2025, replacing ATR 72 turboprop services.

MAY 9, 2025: Singaporean low-cost airline Scoot will increase its Singapore (SIN) - Perth (PER) roundtrips from 12 to 14 times per week, effective August 4, 2025, and Singapore - Sydney (SYD) roundtrips from 10 to 14, effective October 5.
MAY 8, 2025: Qantas will increase its four times per week B787-9 Melbourne (MEL) - Dallas (DFW) - Melbourne flights to daily between December 9, 2025, and January 30, 2026.
MAY 8, 2025: Air New Zealand is suspending its A320neo operated Christchurch (CHC) - Gold Coast (OOL) flights on November 1, 2025, through April 2, 2026. The reflects ongoing demand and market conditions as well as aircraft shortages at the airline.
MAY 7, 2025: Aircalin will add a third weekly Noumea (NOU) - Bangkok (BKK) - Paris (CDG) roundtrip, effective November 17, 2025. SB500 will depart Noumea and SB501 will depart Paris on Mondays in addition to Wednesdays and Saturdays.
MAY 7, 2025: Link Airways advises it will resume its Canberra (CBR) - Coffs Harbour flights on September 18, 2025. The twice-weekly flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays.
