SEPTEMBER 29, 2025: Newcastle (NTL) Airport’s upgraded international terminal opened for business late last week. The terminal works expanded the terminal’s footprint by almost 50% and upgraded the facilities for border services.

SEPTEMBER 29, 2025: Air Niugini has selected Airbus Flight Hour Services (FHS) to support its new fleet of 11 A220 aircraft. The long-term power-by-the-hour contract covers integrated component services, including on-site stock, pool access and repair services.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2025: Qantas commenced scheduled A321-200XLR flights yesterday with services between Sydney (SYD) and Melbourne (MEL) and Sydney and Perth (PER). The airline presently operates two XLRs with a third due to enter service later this year.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2025: Auckland Airport (AKL) has completed its largest infrastructure upgrade since opening in 1966. The upgrade adds around 23 rugby fields of space to the existing apron, taxiway, and runway network, and creates parking for up to 11 jets.

SEPTEMBER 25, 2025: The New Zealand Government is reshuffling the board of its Civil Aviation Authority, appointing Mike Schubert, Peter O’Regan, and Mel Templeton to three-year terms. Outgoing board members include Jill Hatchwell, and Charles Spillane.

SEPTEMBER 24, 2025: Air New Zealand has completed an AUD300 million seven-year fixed rate bond issuance under its wholesale Australia medium term note program. The senior unsecured notes carry a fixed coupon of 5.179% p.a. and mature on September 30, 2032.

SEPTEMBER 17, 2025: National Jet Express is acquiring another two DHC-8-Q400s to join its fleet in 2025. The aircraft will take its total Q400 fleet to 13 aircraft, in addition to their eight Embraer E190 jets.

SEPTEMBER 15, 2025: Air New Zealand will again wet lease a Wamos Air A330-300 between October 30, 2025, and April 30, 2026. The aircraft will operate selected flights to Papeete (PPT), Apia (APW), Nadi (NAN), Denpasar (DPS), and Tokyo Narita (NRT).
