Singapore Airlines has scheduled several service changes across its South West Pacific network for the upcoming northern winter 2026/27 season. The changes, first reported by AeroRoutes, will see frequency increases on four routes and several aircraft swaps.
Affected airports include Adelaide (ADL), Cairns (CNS), Christchurch (CHC), and Melbourne (MEL). The changes reflect seasonal demand in and out of the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The latest changes include:
- Singapore – Adelaide round-trips increasing from 10 to 12 per week between December 3, 2026, and February 3, 2027, operated by 337-seat Boeing 787-10s.
- Singapore – Cairns round-trips increasing from four to seven per week, but the current A350-900 operating the service will be replaced by smaller 154-seat Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
- Singapore – Christchurch flights will continue to be operated by A350-900s, but frequencies will increase from 11 to 12 per week between November 21, 2026, and February 11, 2027.
- Singapore – Melbourne, which can see as many as five round-trips a day, will continue to feature the A380-800 on one of those services beyond the current planned withdrawal date of October 25, 2026. The A380 will continue operating SQ237/228 throughout the northern winter season.
As previously announced, Singapore Airlines will also begin daily A350-900 round-trips to and from Western Sydney Airport (WSI) on November 23, 2026.
The latest schedule updates do not affect flights to Singapore Airlines’ other South West Pacific destinations, including Perth (PER), Darwin (DRW), Brisbane (BNE), Auckland (AKL), and Sydney (SYD).
Singapore Airlines to operate 180 weekly departures to Australia & New Zealand
For the week beginning Sunday, December 6, 2026, and factoring in the latest schedule changes, Singapore Airlines will operate 180 flights to its 10 ports in Australia and New Zealand.
No airport will see fewer than one flight a day, while Melbourne will have as many as five flights on the busiest days of the week. Daily departures to Australia and New Zealand will sit in the mid-20s, with Tuesday (24 departures) the quietest day and Thursday (28 departures) the busiest.
The table below summarises Singapore Airlines’ flights for the week.
Third largest market share
According to Australian Government data, Singapore Airlines carried 7.5% of all passengers travelling in and out of Australia in December 2025 — the most recent month for which data is available.
Measured by passenger numbers, this made Singapore Airlines the third largest carrier operating to and from Australia, behind Qantas and Jetstar.
