The Nauru Government has appointed Captain Robert Eoe as interim CEO of Nauru Airlines, replacing Brett Gebers.
"The decision is to ensure continuity and progress in the company's operations during this pivotal time," reads a Nauru Government statement on the matter.
Gebers replaced Eoe as Nauru Airlines CEO in early 2023 and served just over two years in the role. The Nauru Government did not say why Eoe was reappointed but there is no suggestion of a falling-out between Gebers and the government.
"The airline expresses sincere gratitude to outgoing CEO Brett Gebers for his unwavering dedication and commitment to Nauru Airlines during his tenure," the statement added.
"Captain Eoe previously served as deputy CEO and brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the airline's operations and the regional market. His leadership will provide stability as Nauru Airlines continues to expand its services and strengthen its position in the Pacific aviation sector."
Relying on Boeing 737 types, Nauru Airlines operates scheduled passenger services around the Southwest Pacific, linking the country with Brisbane (BNE), Nadi (NAN), Tarawa (TRW), Kiritimati (CXI), Majuro (MAJ), Pohnpei (PNI), and Koror (ROR). It also operates extensive freight and charter flights throughout the region and elsewhere.
