Qantas A330-200

Qantas to Resume Perth – Auckland, Perth – Jo’burg Flights

Qantas will restart two international routes from Perth (PER) in late 2025. The airline is resuming Perth – Auckland (AKL) fand Perth – Johannesburg (JNB) flights on December 7.

As reported by AeroRoutes, Qantas last operated on the Perth - Auckland route in January 2018 and last flew between Perth and Johannesburg in March 2023.

Qantas will operate both routes three times per week using A330-200s. This aircraft seats 271 passengers, including 243 in economy class and 28 in business class.

Filed schedules indicate the Perth to Auckland service will operate as QF111, departing Perth at 17.00 every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday for a pre-dawn arrival into Auckland the following day.

The Auckland - Perth flights will operate as QF112 and leave Auckland at 08.30 every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday morning for a same-day lunchtime arrival in Perth.

The Perth – Johannesburg service will operate as QF65 and leave Perth at 13.30 every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. The flight will arrive in Johannesburg at 18.45 on the same day.

The return Johannesburg to Perth flights will operate as QF66 and depart Johannesburg at 21.35 on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday evening, arriving in Perth at lunchtime the following day.

The scheduling suggests a single Perth-based A330 will operate a Perth - Auckland – Perth - Johannesburg – Perth rotation.

Qantas will compete with South African Airways on the Perth – Johannesburg city pair. SAA will fly the route five times per week in December using an A340-300. Qantas will also compete with Air New Zealand on the Perth – Auckland city pair. Over the Australian summer, Air Zealand will service the route daily with a B777-300ER.

The new flights increase the number of international destinations Qantas serves from Perth to six. The airline already flies to Singapore (SIN), London (LHR), Paris (CDG), and Rome (FCO) from Perth.
