Hawaiian Airlines Increases Southwest Pacific Flights

Hawaiian Airlines will increase flights to Sydney (SYD) and Papeete (PPT) as part of a series of adjustments to its wider network. The airline, which announced the changes on August 14, 2025, described both markets as “strong”

Flights between Honolulu and Sydney will increase from the present five times per week to daily between December 18, 2025, and January 31, 2026. Hawaiian Airlines will also add a second weekly Honolulu - Papeete round trip in March 2026.

Hawaiian's flights to its other southwest Pacific airports, including Auckland (AKL), Rarotonga (RAR), and Pago Pago (PPG), remain unchanged.

Hawaiian Airlines is also increasing flights to some airports elsewhere in its network and suspending flights to Seoul (ICN), Fukuoka (FUK) and Boston (BOS).

Hawaiian Airlines competes with Qantas and Jetstar on the Honolulu – Sydney route, although Jetstar is exiting the route in October to focus on high-demand Asian routes.

The airline also competes with Air New Zealand on the Honolulu – Auckland route but enjoys sole operator status on the Honolulu – Pago Pago, Honolulu – Rarotonga, and Honolulu – Papeete routes.
