Share
Batik Air Malaysia will end its A330 flights between Melbourne (MEL) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL) in August and has canned its planned direct Sydney (SYD) – Kuala Lumpur before they begin.
Schedule updates recently filed by Batik Air Malaysia show they intend to discontinue their nonstop flights to Melbourne on August 2, 2025. In April, the airline announced they would fly nonstop to Melbourne year-round.
Additionally, the planned start of nonstop flights to Sydney in December will not happen.
Both routes were or were to be operated by Batik Air’s widebody A330-300 aircraft. Batik Air also operates B737-8 flights between Kuala Lumpur and Sydney and Melbourne via Denpasar (DPS). These flights will continue.
Batik Air is yet to issue a statement about the axing of its its A330 flights to Australia.
Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia X both fly on the Melbourne – Kuala Lumpur and Sydney – Kuala Lumpur routes.
