Aero Dili’s First A319-100 Leaves Bandung Paint Shop

Aero Dili’s first Airbus 319-100 and second only jet has left the paint shop at Bandung Airport and flown to Jakarta ahead of ferrying to Timor-Leste and entering into service. The jet is registered as 4W-AAO (msn 2825) and is leased from AFG Aviation.

The Dirgantara Indonesia facility at Bandung repainted the ex-China Eastern Airlines plane and refurbished the cabin, including installing new seats.

The privately-owned Aero Dili isn’t making much noise about its second aircraft, but it is a big deal. It doubles the fleet and will allow the airline to open new routes and increase frequencies on its existing route to Denpasar (DPS), Singapore (SIN) and Xiamen (XMN).

Aero Dili has repeatedly filed plans to begin flights to Darwin (DRW) and Melbourne (MEL), and its CEO has said those cities are next on the list. If that happens, and Aero Dili uses the 319-100, it will be the only airline operating the aircraft types on regularly scheduled flights into both cities.
